Blacklists are directories of IP addresses or email domains that have been categorized as troublesome. Finding your IPs on a blacklist can have certain consequences and impact the deliverability of your emails. There are several reasons why your IP or email domain may be blacklisted. One of the main reasons is that one of your mail servers, or your domain name, has been identified as generating too much spam. That is, many recipients have categorized your many emails as spam. Another reason may also be the misuse of contact lists purchased on the Internet whose senders are certainly not interested in your emails.
Being blacklisted is not necessarily your fault. You may have been the victim of phishing campaigns that allowed hackers to use your email address or generate spam. Finally, the Internet is not infallible and can sometimes generate abusive restrictions. It is possible that your IP address or email domain may end up on a blacklist because a member has not respected good usage practices.
You may have a doubt about the deliverability of your emails or you may be curious to know if your IP or email domain is blacklisted. Our Merox tool has a module that allows you, by entering your IP or email address, to check if they are on a blacklist.
